About Me
Engineer, Entrepreneur & Explorer
I'm Makram, a 21-year-old engineer and entrepreneur who believes that the best innovations happen at the intersection of curiosity and action. Whether I'm debugging code, scaling mountains, or diving into a new philosophy book, I'm always exploring what's possible.
My Professional Journey
From mechanical engineering student to startup founder, my path has been anything but linear
My journey began with a passion for understanding how things work. Studying Mechanical Engineering at Al Hussein Technical University gave me the analytical mindset and problem-solving skills that I now apply to everything from business strategy to personal challenges.
But I quickly realized that the most interesting problems aren't just technicalโthey're at the intersection of technology, business, and human behavior.
My first startup, Black Iris Services, taught me more about business in three months than any textbook could. Even though it didn't achieve the success I hoped for, it ignited a passion for building things that matter.
Since then, I've worked with everyone from Big Four consulting firms to regional drone companies, always looking for ways to bridge the gap between cutting-edge technology and real-world impact.
I believe that the best solutions come from understanding both the technical possibilities and the human needs. Whether I'm developing a marketing strategy, designing a system architecture, or leading a team, I'm always asking: "How can we make this better for the people who will actually use it?"
Beyond the Resume
Life's too short to only focus on work. Here's what keeps me energized and inspired
There's something magical about standing on a mountain peak after hours of climbing. I've hiked extensively across Europe, with the Austrian Alps being my favorite playground. Each trail teaches me something new about persistence and perspective.
I'd love to call myself a triathlon athlete, but I'm probably too mediocre for that title! I enjoy cycling, swimming, running, and lifting weights. I'm what you'd call a "hybrid athlete"โaverage at running, average at lifting, but passionate about both.
Books are my gateway to understanding the world. I'm particularly drawn to philosophy (how should we live?), business strategy (how do we build value?), psychology (why do we behave this way?), and self-improvement (how can we be better?).
Growing up in Jordan and studying in Austria has given me a deep appreciation for different cultures. I love discovering how different societies approach similar challenges, and I'm always eager to learn from new perspectives.
Technology fascinates me not just as tools, but as enablers of human potential. From AI and machine learning to blockchain and IoT, I'm constantly exploring how emerging technologies can solve real-world problems.
Whether it's picking up a new programming language, trying a different cuisine, or learning about a field I've never explored before, I believe that curiosity is the key to a fulfilling life. Every day is an opportunity to learn something new.

My Philosophy
The principles that guide how I approach life, work, and relationships
I'd rather ask the right questions than pretend to have all the answers. The moment we stop being curious is the moment we stop growing.
The best work often happens behind the scenes. I'm more interested in creating value than taking credit for it.
Done is better than perfect. I believe in iterating quickly, learning from failures, and continuously improving rather than waiting for the perfect moment.
The best opportunities come from genuine relationships. I believe in lifting others up because success is more meaningful when it's shared.
